I am excited to be a part of the Sew into Spring Blog Tour with Pickle Toes Patterns, which is happening from April 16-20, 2018!! Please make sure to enter the GIVEAWAY (the link is at the bottom of this blog entry).

I don’t know about you, but I love multifunctional things. I love to save time, money, and energy every way that I can. Pickle Toes Patterns (https://bit.ly/2qfY2Pj) has been enabling my habit but making fabulous multi-option patterns, and their latest hit is the All Seasons Top, Tunic, and Dress (Click here). The name also got me singing the classic The Byrds song, “To everything turn! Turn! Turn! There is a season, turn! Turn! Turn…”

This pattern has 3 very distinctive lengths, 6 sleeve lengths, and 2 neckband options. I love that I can make a comfortable and flirty top:

Or a easy, breezy tunic or dress:

And there are multiple neckline options and sleeve options as well. There are 6 total sleeve options included this pattern: Sleeveless, Cap, Short, Elbow, 3/4, or Long Sleeve. I chose to keep it short with my sews because down here, it is already in the upper 80’s in the springtime. I will sew up the cap soon, and the elbow, 3/4, and long sleeved versions as the seasons change around here, I am sure!

There is also a v-neck option, which is amazing! I love not having to buy 3-4 patterns when one purchase will do from summer to winter!

You, too, can pick up a copy of this awesome pdf pattern at https://bit.ly/2qEXmDc, and grab around 2 yards of your favorite knit fabric with at least 30% stretch. I used amazing double brushed poly from The Fab Clique (https://www.thefabclique.com) and Mily Mae Fabrics (https://bit.ly/2Ju3IxH) for these 3 looks. Our sponsor for the Sew Into Spring Blog Tour is Seweird Fabrics (www.seweird.com), and I love their high quality, low priced offerings. I have used their fabrics in a number of my other blog posts, such as https://jotdesignsusa.com/2018/02/07/flirting-with-fashion/ and at least two other blog posts here in my newish blog. Make sure to show them lots of love, and you can find great specials if you join their Facebook groups.

I started off this Blog Tour singing a little JT/NSync in my head, and then I had the HARDEST time deciding what to sew up. The Petite Stitchery and Company have SO many awesome offerings, that I was just so unsure how to narrow my choices down…. Sew, I decided to make a mini spring capsule from just 2 patterns: the Women’s Fusion Leggings and the Women’s Runway Raglan. Being plus-sized, I LOVED that their size range goes from XS-3XL. I also LOVED the versatility in each of the patterns. I decided that I needed to make myself outfits that range from work to play, all while being super comfortable and sew fashionable.

I made the Fusion Leggings in Southern Belle’s Extreme Stretch Denim in black (https://bit.ly/2HYwwxX), and I also used their Leanne Floral in black (double brushed poly. https://bit.ly/2JlaF3p) for my business casual Runway Raglan look.

I used Southern Belle’s faux lace to make this Runway Raglan and teal DBP for an accent color, making this my go-to 3/4 sleeve top for running errands, being comfy at home, or even running out for quick date night. I LOVE multipurpose patterns and clothes!! The Women’s Runway Raglan comes in 4 sleeve lengths and 3 bodice lengths. It’s Amazing!

And what’s life without a little whimsy?? I sewed up a variation of the Runway Raglan with a custom panel, and I paired it with the Fusion Leggings in the Extreme Stretch Denim to highlight this pair’s versatility. I am ready for my next movie break, shopping, or to sit down and mend a few socks in my gorgeous new outfit.

As you can see, with just a few yards of fabric, you, too could have many different outfit combinations if you run and get a copy of a pdf pattern or 2 like I did with the Women’s Fusion Leggings and the Women’s Runway Raglan from Petite Stitchery and Company (Click here for PS&CO)

These Jeans are the Real Deal, and So is This Outer Banks Boatneck Top

I am lucky to count myself as a part of the Just Jeans Blog Tour by Winter Wear Designs (https://bit.ly/2F2mqJG), along with other very talented sewists.

If you are needing the perfect pair of jeans, capris, shorts, or a jean skirt, look no further than Winter Wear Designs. The designs are flawless, and the tutorial for the pdf patterns are sew easy to follow! If you ever had a fear of setting a zipper, you NEED a copy of their Real Deal Jeans for Women in sizes 00-24 (https://bit.ly/2JZeTPs) or their Staple Skirt for Women in sizes 00-24 (https://bit.ly/2qY0OZS). Being a plus-sized woman, I LOVE being able to find patterns that fit me that are reasonably priced and offer options within each pattern! The best part about their Real Deal Jeans is that not only is it available with many lengths, is versatile and flattering, BUT it is on sale for ONLY $5!! I felt that I couldn’t afford to Not pick up a copy of this pdf pattern.

fullsizeoutput_28e1fullsizeoutput_28e4fullsizeoutput_28de

I decided to sew up capris and paired it with Winter Wear Design’s new Outer Banks Boatneck (https://bit.ly/2EYuriB), as the temperature is already rising, as we inch ever-closer to summer. They fit me like $100 capris from famous makers in the mall. No. Strike that. They fit me Better then those high end capris because I was able to tailor them to my exact measurements. And don’t worry about jeans taking too long or being too difficult! The tutorial and I made these capris in only 3 hours; complete with a button, buttonhole, zipper, fly shield, topstitching, and faced waistband! And you can, too!! Isn’t it the best feeling in the world when you pull on your favorite and flattering pair of jeans, capris, or shorts?

And how about jean skirts? I loved Winter Wear Designs Staple Skirt, which sewed up as easily as the Real Deal Jeans! It is Super cute, and versatile for the transition months, and even into summer! I paired it with the Outer Banks Boatneck and the reversible La Croix. It really does go with nearly every occasion!

Head on over to Winter Wear Designs (https://bit.ly/2F2mqJG) to take advantage of the sale and create a mini capsule like I did with the BEST fitting and looking jeans that you’ve ever owned! And don’t forget to visit the other stops of the Just Jeans Blog Tour to check out what they sewed up!! It’s bound to be an inspirational journey!!

Your Baby Always Looked Good In Blue

I am honored to be a part of the Simply By Ti Gifts Blog Tour with many other talented sewists. The theme of this blog tour was gift that can be made.

30726122_10213173798674251_1299121968024387584_n

This was an unseasonably long winter, and perhaps this is one of many reasons why I am so fortunate to be invited to so many baby showers for late summer babies. heeheehee

One of my friends had a gender reveal last week, so I Knew that she was expecting a son, but this outfit is cute and chic enough for either sex, due largely in part to the awesome cotton lycra options that are available at SimplyByTi.com. I used cobalt and black solids to create the cutest little top and beanie to keep her 3 month old warm in the late fall of this year.

I Loved having a reason to sew up a beanie with little ears! I had forgotten just how tiny infant clothes were. It felt like I put my presser foot down, and made 2 stitches, and the seam was done. I can’t wait for pics this coming late-fall/early winter!

This adorable pattern came from Patterns for Pirates, and the amazing and great quality Cotton Lycra fabric came from Simply By Ti.

Now, I just have to figure out what I am making for the other 4 baby showers in the next couple of months. LOL

Any suggestions?
