It’s that time of year again! It’s time to head back to school. Whether you are a student, educator, or administrator, you always want to look your best doing it! Luckily, Winter Wear Designs (aff) has got your back!! Their amazing patterns will have you looking stylish, no matter your age!

I was lucky enough to join in the Back 2 School Blog Tour with some AMAZING bloggers, who are talented sewists as well! We each set out with the goal of creating a mini capsule for differing back to school needs, so please make sure to visit all of the stops along this blog tour to be able to get inspired by the great and beautiful creations that have been made using Winter Wear Designs’ pdf patterns!

I sewed up the Aviator Pants for Women in Sizes XXS-XXXL (aff) and the Hepburn Henley for Women in Sizes 00-22 (aff) from the Back to School Bundle for Teens and Women (aff). I also sewed up the Trendy Tank (aff), a pattern that is free with coupon code, and the Read Deal Jeans for Women, in Sizes XXS-XXL (aff) in the capri length for this change of season, as we head into autumn.

As I was trying to create a capsule for back to school looks, I chose pieces that were versatile so that you can mix and match and never have your wardrobe go stale or to be unprepared for a situation. I made the Aviator pants with a faux snakeskin velvet (from Mily Mae Fabrics) so that students or faculty could go to class in them or throw them on for dinner and a night on the town. I chose to have front pockets, but not the optional cargo pockets or back welt pockets, as I was going for a more trouser/dress pants kind of feel. I also went with a waistband hack for them, as I had this gorgeous glittery waistband elastic from Knitpop (aff). This glitter allows me to not only feel pretty, but also SO comfy all day long.

With the Hepburn Henleys, I sewed one up with longer sleeves in DBP and RS (the white and yellow one with daisies from Love Adore Knits), and my other one in Rose Baroque crushed velvet from Mily Mae Fabrics.

As you can see with a couple of accessories and changing from the Real Deal Jeans to the Aviators sewn up in a luxe fabric like velvet or suede, and the Hepburn Henley sewn up in fabrics like velvet, suede, silk, brushed hacci, or satin, you look can go from classroom to date night in a flash.

I also sewed up a Trendy Tank (aff) in Twinkle Teal velvet from Mily Mae Fabrics and finished my edges with silver fold over elastic (FOE) for a fun look under a blazer (Phresh blazer anyone?) or cardi (Twin Peaks Cardi perfection!) or on its own for a fun night on the town.

As you can see, the options are endless and are limited only by your imagination (OK OK, and maybe the available budget. hahaha) Grabbing the Back to School Bundle for Teens and Women (aff) will have you set with SO many possible looks for your own back to school capsule for one low price.

This Taylor is a Total Love Story!

If you follow my blog, you know that I have mad love for the Petra Taylor Ladies Tee, Tunic, and Dress (all in one) pattern by Pickle Toes Patterns. This back to school season, I decided to bust my scrap bin, and I found my fabulous fourth of July fabric from So Sew English. I realized that even though I didn’t have enough to make a shirt out of each, I Did have enough for a color blocked Taylor tee for myself!

You, too, can grab your scrap bin and use as many or as few colors and textures to make this sure-to-please COMFORTABLE top/tunic/dress. One of the best parts is that you have 3 length options and you can also customize your sleeve length and whether or not you want to hem or use bands, all for ONE LOW PRICE!

I can’t wait until I have another 20 minutes to make myself another one of these awesome tops!

I have an Itch to Stitch Another Nottingham Tee

Itch to Stitch’s designer has created the cutest top in the Nottingham Tee.  I had the pleasure of testing this new tee with a twist. It comes in sizes 0-20, and has 3 sleeve options.

I sewed up the some luxurious double brushed poly (DBP)  that I got at an AMAZING price from Love Adore Knits (Loveadoreco.com) for my long sleeved version of this adorable top in a size 16.

I used Sly Fox Fabic’s (slyfoxfabrics.com) wonderful and vibrant DBP for my short-sleeved version.

This pattern is another that you can dress up or down, and is a super quick and easy sew. The only thing to watch for is the sleeve attachment, as the designer had decided to slightly offset the sleeve for a better drape/ attachment to the bodice of this tee.

Don’t wait to make your first Nottingham Tee. You won’t regret it!

Wore My All Seasons (turn, turn, turn)…

I am excited to be a part of the Sew into Spring Blog Tour with Pickle Toes Patterns, which is happening from April 16-20, 2018!! Please make sure to enter the GIVEAWAY (the link is at the bottom of this blog entry).

I don’t know about you, but I love multifunctional things. I love to save time, money, and energy every way that I can. Pickle Toes Patterns (https://bit.ly/2qfY2Pj) has been enabling my habit but making fabulous multi-option patterns, and their latest hit is the All Seasons Top, Tunic, and Dress (Click here). The name also got me singing the classic The Byrds song, “To everything turn! Turn! Turn! There is a season, turn! Turn! Turn…”

This pattern has 3 very distinctive lengths, 6 sleeve lengths, and 2 neckband options. I love that I can make a comfortable and flirty top:

Or a easy, breezy tunic or dress:

And there are multiple neckline options and sleeve options as well. There are 6 total sleeve options included this pattern: Sleeveless, Cap, Short, Elbow, 3/4, or Long Sleeve. I chose to keep it short with my sews because down here, it is already in the upper 80’s in the springtime. I will sew up the cap soon, and the elbow, 3/4, and long sleeved versions as the seasons change around here, I am sure!

There is also a v-neck option, which is amazing! I love not having to buy 3-4 patterns when one purchase will do from summer to winter!

You, too, can pick up a copy of this awesome pdf pattern at https://bit.ly/2qEXmDc, and grab around 2 yards of your favorite knit fabric with at least 30% stretch. I used amazing double brushed poly from The Fab Clique (https://www.thefabclique.com) and Mily Mae Fabrics (https://bit.ly/2Ju3IxH) for these 3 looks. Our sponsor for the Sew Into Spring Blog Tour is Seweird Fabrics (www.seweird.com), and I love their high quality, low priced offerings. I have used their fabrics in a number of my other blog posts, such as https://jotdesignsusa.com/2018/02/07/flirting-with-fashion/ and at least two other blog posts here in my newish blog. Make sure to show them lots of love, and you can find great specials if you join their Facebook groups.
